TYPES OF PORTABLE ELEMENTS (TIPOS DE ELEMENTOS PORTACABLES)
TYPES OF ELECTRICAL PIPING
The pipes or electrical conduits
have as main function to provide physical protection to the conductors of any
electrical installation. According to the interaction with the electrical
circuits they contain, they are divided into two large groups, such as ferrous
and non-magnetic magnetic pipes such as aluminum and plastic. Pipes are used
for each case, as required by the installation. The lengths of the sections of
metallic pipe, as well as those of electric PVC are of 3.05 meters already
threaded for the tubes of thick wall and not coiled for the tubes of thin wall.
Flexible or plastic tubes are sold by feet up to 100-foot rolls. Among the
different types of pipes.
GALVANIZED CONDUIT TUBE:
In this type of tube is protected
inside and outside by means of galvanized finish, could be used in any kind of
work given its strength. It is especially recommended in overlapping type
industrial installations, in installations in the open or permanently humid.
GROUND WALL GALVANIZED STEEL TUBES:
This tube is protected inside and
outside by means of the galvanized finish, as it is used in any kind of work
given its resistance. In particular it is recommended in industrial
installations visible type or in facilities to the intemperie or permanently
wet.
GALVANIZED STEEL WALL TUBES:
The difference of this tube with
respect to the thick wall is that the thickness of the wall of the tube is
half, its applications are of the same type for its properties of resistance to
humidity, only that it can not be made thread in Ends and is joined by means of
other types of connectors.
GROUND WALL ENAMELED STEEL TUBE:
This type of tube is protected
internally and externally with enamel for protection against oxidation, so it
is recommended for installations in the weather or in permanent wet places.
FLEXIBLE TUBE (BX):
It is used in applications in
which rigid pipe can not be used, where many angles or capricious shapes need
to be made, because it adapts easily to the needs of space. It is ideal for
machine installations because it can easily absorb vibrations caused by these.
It is also used in buildings or constructions when having expansion joints.
This type of pipe must be wired prior to placement. It is complemented with
screw couplings and special connectors.
PLASTIC TUBE (POLYSTU):
It has the characteristic
or property of being light and resistant to the action of water, its
application is greatly increased in built-in installations, buildings,
commerce. It has the limitation that can not be used in places with
temperatures above 60º C. Care must be taken when using, as many times masons
or staff will crush them when they do their work and at the time of wiring the
tubes are Are blocked, so it is recommended to always place a section of
pipeline, this lead a guide (piece of mooring wire or galvanized). Another
recommendation, when the pipeline goes underground, should be wired before
burial. Specialized plastic accessories are required for connection to each
other and with junction boxes. The pvc for example is used in crockery in humid
or corrosive places.
ELECTRIC PVC TUBE:
It has the difference with the
PVC pipe of water in the thickness of its walls, since this one should not
withstand internal pressure like the PVC for water. Its use has increased
greatly, both because of the ease it gives to work, as it is more aesthetic and
safe than the polyduct, and because of its price, since it is cheaper than
metal tubes. It is being used in underground installations and can be used in
primary connections as long as the conductors are covered by a layer of
function as a complement of mechanical protection.
ALUMINIUM TUBE:
This type of pipe in thick wall
or thin wall, has the advantage of being lighter than steel pipes to equal
section, it is recommended to use for installations with reinforcements of the
same material.
